Opportunities

The lab is always interested in welcoming post-doctoral fellows interested in contributing to our research. We are currently interested in the mechanisms underlying the control of locomotion, whether it'd be through inputs from the MLR or from sensory modalities, with a more recent emphasis on taste bud afferents. We have recently found that stimulation of taste buds can trigger responses in reticulospinal cells controlling locomotion, as well as in trigeminal motoneurons controlling feeding behavior. Another area of research is the study of interactions between locomotion and respiration. The lamprey is well-suited to better understand the underlying mechanisms of these interactions.

Students interested in undertaking Master's or Doctoral degrees in any of our main lines of research should contact Dr. Dubuc directly.

Students from the Neurosciences undergraduate program who are interested in an internship in our lab can find some information here and are encouraged to contact Dr. Dubuc.

Students from the Biomedical Sciences undergraduate program who are interested in an intership in our lab can find some information here and are encouraged to contact Dr. Dubuc.

Undergraduate students from other programs who are highly motivated and interested in our research are also most welcome to contact Dr. Dubuc to inquire about internship opportunities in our lab.

Our lab offers the possibility of persuing your part of the research through electrophysiology, neuroanatomy, calcium imaging or any combinations of these approaches.

For more details, please contact Réjean Dubuc directly.
